Our Services

General and Contact Lens Exams

A comprehensive eye exam is an important part of caring for your overall health whether you need vision correction or not. By looking into your eyes, Dr. Ali can also check for signs of serious health conditions like hypertension and diabetes.

If you wear contacts, we are happy to perform soft contact lens fittings as well.

Dry Eye

Dry eye is a common cause of eye pain or discomfort, especially for people who use computers and other electronic devices for long periods of time daily.

There are many different treatment options, including artificial tears, artificial tear gel, punctal plugs, and prescription medications (such as Restasis and Xiidra).

In severe cases not responsive to the treatments above, you can talk to Dr. Ali about Prokera placement.

Amblyopia

Amblyopia, or “lazy eye,” is when vision in one eye does not develop as well as the other because visual input to the lazy eye is somehow blocked, preventing proper connections from the eye to brain to form.

Glaucoma Treatment

Glaucoma is a group of eye conditions that damage the optic nerve, which is vital to good vision. This damage is often caused by an abnormally high pressure in your eye. Vision loss due to glaucoma can’t be recovered. So it’s important to have regular eye exams that include measurements of your eye pressure. If glaucoma is recognized early, vision loss can be slowed or prevented.

Diabetes Care

Diabetic retinopathy affects blood vessels in the light-sensitive tissue called the retina that lines the back of the eye. It is the most common cause of vision loss among people with diabetes and the leading cause of vision impairment and blindness among working-age adults. Vision lost to diabetic retinopathy is sometimes irreversible. However, early detection and treatment can reduce the risk of blindness by 95 percent.

Macular Degeneration

Macular degeneration, also known as age-related macular degeneration (AMD), is caused by deterioration of the retina and can severely impair vision. There is no cure for macular degeneration, but it can be treated with vitamins, eye injections, and low vision aids.

Cataract Surgery

A cataract is a clouding of the normally clear lens of the eye. Depending upon its size and location, it can interfere with normal vision. Most cataracts develop in people over age 55. Usually cataracts develop in both eyes, but one eye may have worse vision than the other.

Read on to see if surgery is right for you.

Cataract Surgery Lens Options

You have chosen to move forward with cataract surgery. Decision making doesn’t stop there!

There are many lens options available to you now, including lenses that can correct astigmatism and multifocal lenses that are designed to reduce spectacle dependence.

Not every patient is a good candidate for every lens, and Dr. Ali will go over which lens is the best option for you.

Preoperative and Postoperative Instructions

Dr. Ali will go over the what to expect before, during, and after surgery.

Dr. Ali has been my eye doctor for about 3 years. I found her to be very professional. Her laid back chairside demeanor is 2’nd to none & since she performed cataract removal surgery on me I needed to have the utmost confidence with the eye surgeron who performed that surgery. Her surgery was seamless, successful & I can see again! Dr. Ali is always friendly, patient, listens to any questions & concerns plus she always takes the time to explain things to me as well.. Thank you so much, Dr. Ali.
